Thananchai Suwansuk, head of environment office of region six, said that 19 hotspots had been detected in Sumatra Island of Indonesia on Sunday, up from 12 spots on Saturday. Among the four provinces, Songkhla has been hit the most from the rising level of dust less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter. The wind has made it less severe in some areas, he said. Officials plan to instal more devices to check air pollution in Pattani province. In recent years, Thailand’s southern provinces have been affected by smog from Indonesia as forests there are cleared for agricultural activities besides regular forest fires. The max reading in the south today is 2.5 PM AQI value of 51 which is extremely low compared to the horrendous air pollution inundates the north of Thailand six months of the year during Thailand's field burning season. Even central thailand including Hua Hin was much worse this year with 2.5 PM up to AQI of 200 while Chiang Rai was listed at over AQI 500 2.5 PM just two months ago!! Stocky Posted July 6, 2020 Share Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) It's gone again, though it was barely here, AQI got to 140 over the weekend, but it's 55 this morning in Hat Yai.
