The only thing lacking is of course tourists as I don't see this as an attraction for the locals.

True.  Chiang Mai has the zoo, the night safari, the night market, more temples than you can throw a stick at, weekend walking street, the list goes on and on.  All these things rely on tourists and they are lacking.  Not just because of the virus either.  It is going to be hard work building up the tourist industry again in Chiang Mai and just adding more Disney like attractions is unlikely to do it.

Other than their saying it's "in the Bueng Buakhao area, in Chiang Mai's San Sai district," one would think the reporter would give real information as to where this is located and how to get there, even if it's completed and open for business yet.

Does anyone know the location?

I THINK this is West of the 1001, after the Honda dealer at the crossroads and around the Toyota dealer (on the right side heading North). There's already an outdoorsy type of eatery/drinkery with bamboo huts on stilts in that location and the water lillies in the picture are evident.

Did you know that Marie Antoinette and her ladies-in-waiting put on specially worn and soiled "peasant outfits" to play at being shepherdesses and farmers ?

Welcome to "virtual Thailand" !
