Popular Post snoop1130
DCD says first wave of COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand has ended The first wave of the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand has come to an end, after the country has not seen a case of local, or community infection for 44 consecutive days, said Dr. Anupong Sujariyakul, an expert attached to the Disease Control Department, today (Wednesday). He warned, however, that Thailand must now be prepared for the possibility of a second wave of infections, as the contagion is still spreading in many parts of the world, with several countries already experiencing a second wave. As far as Thailand is concerned, Dr. Anupong said that the Ministry of Public Health supports the Government’s plan to open the country cautiously, in order to restart its ailing economy, while still keeping our guard up, by strictly observing the basic rules of wearing face masks, regular hand cleaning and social distancing. Regarding the warning from scientists in 32 countries to the WHO, that coronavirus can be transmitted through airborne droplets smaller than 5 microns, Dr. Anupong said that the Thai Public Health Ministry had previously explained that the contagion can be transmitted through airborne droplets in an enclosed environment, such as in intensive care units, but not in open spaces with good ventilation and sunshine. “If COVID-19 can be easily transmitted through the air, like tuberculosis, then worldwide infections would not be just 11-12 million cases, but many more,” he said, as he advised the public not to be overly concerned about airborne contagion at this point. Popular Post ThailandRyan
Just tell the truth and release the real data, folks are becoming complacent because they believe the drivel and that there is no reason to social distance or mask up any more. The fans are not allowed to watch team sports, schools actually banned them at the moment. As you can see the restrictions are still there ????

Popular Post tribalfusion001
Is this the 1st wave that is similar to opening up a packet of Lays and finding hardly any crisps or taking off a Thai girls bra to find it's mostly stuffing and push up lol. 58 dead and 3200 ish infections and a -8.1 drop in GDP. Popular Post DrTuner
1st wave over, now the water gets sucked back into the sea and .. If they learned anything from that one, it should be to have an early warning system in place before the tsunami hits. I think they've put mufflers on the sirens, the hoi polloi must remain calm.

Popular Post ukrules
I can't be the only one who thinks that what's going around the world right now is the second wave of a mutated version of something which was 'doing the rounds' late last year. Many countries reported a huge increase of respiratory illness in Q4, 2019. I've read reports of 10 times the usual number of hospital admissions in the UK in December but it doesn't appear to have been the same illness we now know as COVID-19 - I think it was a previous strain. They would not have known this is something different in December because it was most likely a much milder form of the virus. If it mutated in December / January in Wuhan then that would begin what we're seeing now and also go a long way towards explaining the massive numbers of people who are largely immune from this, because they were exposed to the previous and less harmful version. Don't write this off, it's been around far longer than anyone knows so far. 13

Think of all the tourists from China, the UK, Italy, Spain, India, Brazil, the US etc who visited Thailand last December the busiest month of the year. Forgetting all the transit passengers. And Thailand has how many Covid 19 cases and deaths? Why do you think the UK has marked Thailand Code Red? ThailandRyan
In the end you Reap what you Sow. Meaning that Thailand has tried its best to deceive others into believing there Covid numbers, but as the rest of the World and even the UK knows they were mocked. Thailand did what it does best unfortunately and did it in order to please it's sinful nature, corruption and greed from which it will now and has started to reap its own internal destruction. Had they been truthful instead of prideful to save Face from the mistakes they made early on because of this insatiable greed they have, then they would now be reaping benefits. Instead they continue to try and deceive the rest of the world, and because of this there populace is paying the high price for those who should he cast out. Of course this is just my take on whats now happening, as the attempts by the Thai Government to open up to the outside world, and for those citizens wishing to travel from Thailand and be accepted on a green light basis are collapsing inward on them. Popular Post Geoffggi
I'm still confused, what is the difference between a resurgence of the 1st wave and the coming of a 2nd or 3rd wave, does it have a label on it identifying which one it is.......???? 2

I just took a serology test in my country as a precaution for work purposes and apparently I had past covid infection. The last time I had a bad case of cold was in end December after a short trip to bkk. I was sick for two weeks with breathing difficulties/chest pain and it was the worst case of flu I can remember in my life. I can't be sure if that's the time I got covid though because I could have got it but remain asymptomatic. But looking at the number of travellers versus the reported infections in Thailand, you either have a lot of faith to believe them or you just prefer to close both eyes and wish it's true. 5

The FCO doesn't think so as they are on the green list. Cambodia and Laos also have reported no deaths. Myanmar 6 deaths. They all codswallop too? That's 5 neighbouring countries with very low figures. Can you see a pattern?

Henryford
An interesting article in the New York Times which compares excess level of deaths above a normal year by country with reported Covid deaths in the last 2 months. Thailand does quite well, 1800 excess deaths against 12 reported Covid. Spain for example had 44,000 excess deaths compared to 26,000 reported Covid deaths. Peru 16,000 excess deaths compared to 4,000 reported as Covid. Edited July 9, 2020 by Henryford

I'm not disputing what you say, and I'm inclined to believe that the Thai numbers may well be pie in the sky. But with that said, what happened to the hundreds or even thousands of corpses of those who died from Covid? How do you hide that? 2
rickthompson
Brilliant! Scientists from 32 countries have warned the WHO this virus can be transmitted via airborne droplets. In addition, many of these studies from several countries are showing that airborne transmission is extremely likely and that things like air conditioners and fans help to spread it over large areas. Meanwhile, this guy is telling people not to be concerned with airborne transmission too much. Ludicrous!
