COVID-19 Transmitted Via Contact with Droplets: Disease Control Dept

BANGKOK, July 9 (TNA) - The Disease Control Department reiterated that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is transmitted through respiratory droplets when people cough or sneeze to allay fears of airborne threats of coronavirus.

Dr Anupong Suchariyakul, a specialist at the Disease Control Department said on Wednesday that the first wave of Covid-19 outbreak had come to an end in Thailand as the country had not seen any new local case of coronavirus for 44 consecutive days.

However, he warned people to be prepared for a second wave of outbreak due to the continuing spread of COVID-19 in many countries. He instructed people to stay vigilant and wear masks.

Regarding scientists from 32 countries, calling for the World Health Organization (WHO) to acknowledge COVID-19 can spread in the air, Dr. Anupong said about the cases in Thailand that the virus is spread via respiratory droplets when people cough or sneeze and they pose a risk of exposure at distances of 1-2 metres.

It seems that each "scientist" doesn't know what the other "scientists" are doing or saying, and say what they need to say, to suit their own agenda.

How many ways do they have to slice and dice information that virtually every person on the planet is aware of.  Anyone who has access to a TV or the Internet and is older than an infant has been taught that respiratory diseases like colds and flus are contracted via airborne droplets (coughs and sneezes) as well as other vectors.  Mummy didn't you to cover your mouth when you sneeze and cough?  Well, at least in the first world.  Perhaps the author has just discovered this himself and wishes to share.

...as well as getting a photo-op and getting their picture in the news as well as looking 'scientific' and 'highly knowledgeable.'

Shocked to see that scientists tell their "opinion" all the time.

Also if they find the virus somewhere they do not consider if it is still infectious. Horror stories especially from HK and China, that the virus is still there after hours and 10s of meters away do not consider if you could still get infected. They feed the media with stories and get a candy for it. Gooood boooy!!!

9/07/2020 · The New York Times reported recently that 239 scientists from 32 countries have written an open letter to the World Health Organization (WHO) that the virus causing Covid-19 can remain airborne for a period of time and thus transmit itself.

The OP in part is not panic about airborne transmission. The take away from the link here regarding airborne is in last sentence about infections in a church choir session: Members had an intense and prolonged exposure singing while sitting 6-10 inches from one another possibly emitting aerosols

Milton, a professor of environmental health at the University of Maryland who studies how viruses are transmitted, has helped lead a group of 239 scientists who wrote an open letter to appeal for better recognition of the potential airborne transmission of coronavirus.

It's not a secret, but agencies seem to be afraid to talk about the airborne nature of the virus, Milton said.

That's what this is about.

The report seems to state that they do not know if the virus is transmittable when found. there is not enough data to determine if this is a threat.
