Daily News reported that Pattaya police and Sawang Boriboon rescue foundation went to the third floor of an apartment building in Banglamung after the owner of the building found a Russian man had committed suicide.

The deceased had begged for help from the owner just days prior but was refused.

Dmitrii Z., 45, was sitting on the floor of the bathroom with a rope around his neck attached to the doorknob. There was no evidence of foul play in the room.

The owner of the building said that two days ago the Russian had asked to rent a room. He looked very stressed as his employment with a Russian tour company had ended and he had lost all his savings due to the Covid-19 crisis.

He asked to borrow money but the owner refused. In addition the Russian asked to be taken to Chonburi immigration because his passport had expired. The owner had some personal problems of his own to attend to and also refused this request.

Two days later he found the Russian dead.
