its the same animal species,melanistic colour gene,pathera pardus or leopard.another writer has said basically the same thing.its a common misconception.

Yes I meant that leopards are usually solitary I believe, therefore rarely seen as a pair wandering around together. Perhaps it's a male and female about to or having just mated.
