I think you guys did them a favor sending them there. I know where I would want to live if I had to choose between the UK and Australia. The weather is much nicer in Australia. Could well be insufficient police resources as well as some returnees being tested positive, so may well have a flow on impact on resources such as medical staff / intensive care beds.
