Ko Kood, Ko Phayam

Recommended Posts

My Thai friend likes these two beaches. I know nothing about them. If you have first-hand knowledge, it would be appreciated if you pass it on. Her English is not the best. But her smile is.

The beaches on Koh Kood run down the west of the island.  There aren’t any on the inaccessible east coast.   In the centre of the island is Klong Chao beach.  A 500 metre long swathe of white sand dotted with just four boutique resorts.  Close by is a small community and easily accessible shops and restaurants. A little further south, Ngamkho Beach and Bang Bao Beach both offer a range of resorts and bungalows, but if you want to avoid eating in resorts you might find a scooter is required to get out and about.

Hey thanks guys. They both sound like a good place to go. I think could be romantic.

Are mosquitoes a problem for a non-Thai?

Mosquitoes are a problem for everyone.  Having said that, mosquitoes tend to be more prevalent around dusk, but on the island, the time window is more pronounced. Thay all come out around sundown and I would cover up from head to toe. An hour later they were mostly gone.

Thanks. For some reason they seem to prefer me. I guess you too.

I have been in restaurants and getting bitten and the Thais didn't seem to be.
