I think we should all start protests while respectfully remembering Egyptian Lives Matter.

As in other countries there is no need to wear a mask while protesting but you must put the mask back on soon as the protest is over, return home and stay there. Stay tuned - we will let you know when we need you all on the set again for the next movie scene.

Gotta go - it's midnight at the oasis.

He also expressed concern over the high-risk behavior of people frequenting night entertainment venues, warning them to exercise extra caution.

In the meantime please continue to cram yourselves into the MRT like sardines every day.......

the Egyptian military didn't transgress the protocols, your people did by allowing them to go through. Virus doesn't know borders, doesn't differentiate rich or poor, black or white, the safety protocols should be enforced regardless who is coming, diplomatic or not, military or civil all should be checked the same way

Does anyone know if he had the balls to publicly address this yet?

And on the BTS.  I also went to the Bangkok Arts and Cultural center yesterday for a nice stroll through the White Elephant exhibit, when I walked across the MBK, there was no one checking temps, and no one ensuring use of the tracking platform.  You would think that enlightened folks would get back to doing what this government espouses, but laziness prevails, as the Officer manning the MRT scanner seemed more interested in his cell phone as people streamed through when I returned home Via the Sathon MRT station at 5 pm.

the Prime Minister explained his shock, after it was discovered that one member of the Egyptian military delegation, staying at a hotel in Rayong, was found to be infected with COVID-19, after several of them broke health regulations by visiting a local shopping mall.

So change the rules Mr PM, you are the boss.
Stop giving privileges to the elite and expect them to follow rules, you cannot trust anyone.

That includes foreign visitors and those who are expected to make sure they follow protocols.

The same old "There are rules for us and then there are the rules for the small people". This is what is urking the Thai people. The ecomomic sacrifice suffered by the ordinary Thai only to be undone by the priviledged "military". Not good.

Hit by a plane the PMs government allowed to land, disembark, and go shopping. The resulting chaos is going to result in even more suffering amongst people already teetering on the edge. At least he apologised for once, and it seems the loopholes are being closed.

Note that the two flights (EGY1245 & EGY1216) stopped in UAE and Pakistan - also Covid 19 hot spots - before landing in Thailand. Then left Thailand early morning July 9th  for China on Thursday for "unexplained military business", returning before midnight the same day to stay at the same hotel.

Prayut as Minister of Defense surely would have been notified in advance of those intended foreign military movements in-out-in of Thailand as a matter of diplomatic protocol. If he was allegedly unaware of such movements twice transgressing Thailand's sovereignty, much less not granting advance approval and monitoring those movements, a Prime Minister would likely fire the Minister of Defense. But of course, Prayut is also the past and current Prime Minister.

So more than an apology from Prayut is needed. As a minimum, he should reassign his position as Minister of Defense and nominate a qualified and respected person to the position.

There is more than likely a lot of blame to go around, but the big is the crew members who think that the rules do not apply to them. It stops with the crew members who made the decision to leave their hotels and go for a look see.

Absolute panic and a lot of scaremongering in my opinion.

Yes, the authorities did a mistake and also the delegation didn't follow the protocols.

But what we see now if the typical Thai knee jerk panic reaction.

I'm betting there was no one infected from this Egypt national and the venues and whole region there is absolutely safe.

Does anyone with his right mind believe that there are no local covid cases in Thailand right now?

This seems almost impossible... They are most likely very mild to mild cases which people not connect to covid disease.

Thousands of people die each year from traffic deaths and no one gives a fuzz but now in this case the PM flys to the place of incident to give "moral" support. This is just ridiculous.

I am greatly concerned about this virtual plane.   Did it sustain any theoretical damage?   Was it a virtual writeoff?  Does Prayut have enough insurance cover for a hyperthetical payout to the virtual owners of the virtual plane? Could we substitute an actual aircraft...preferably an unmanned drone...please?

Night time venues getting a mention is a worrisome comment even after all the safety protocols being advertised

Seeding information.

if we go out at night we can already see how reckless people are being. Mostly being safe in the day but as soon as it’s bar time all caution disappears.

Now we have the Egyptian as a possible cause IF things go bad and young people can be blamed for making the spread possible.

Notice he didn’t mention the family of the diplomat. That would direct blame towards him.

Both the van driver, who took the Egyptians from U-tapao airport to the hotel, and the cabbie, who took some of the Egyptians from their hotel to the mall, have been cleared of the disease.

Eh? How that work when the symptoms may not show up for 14 days? Quarantine?!! Not getting the whole story - more panic fear mongering to follow.

Suppose that would be the plane myself and thousands of others are still waiting to get on.

To get back to our home and families.?

(poor choice of words, although he is a good target)...
