Immigration chief Pol Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang announced the resolution of three cases at immigration HQ in Bangkok yesterday.

Top of the list was a woman arrested at a hotel in Aranyaprathet called Petcharat, 55, who also went by the moniker "Jae Petch - Poi Pet".

Through a Facebook page she became known as someone who could arrange for migrants to slip across the border with Cambodia for 4,000 baht, 500 up front.

The Facebook page suggested that there was "no need to run or wade through mud and water" Jae Petch would sort it out for you.

By doing this migrants avoided quarantine and health checks related to Covid-19 restrictions.

Her case comes after the Thai authorities admitted that 3,000 people crossed illegally into Thailand through natural borders in the last few weeks.

She was charged with illegally sidestepping entry requirements and contravening the emergency decree.

In the second case two Singaporeans called Chern or Jek and Anthony (surnames withheld) and two Thai women called Natpaphat and Piyaporn were arrested at  a house in Saraphi district of Chiang Mai for running an illegal online gambling business and advertising such an operation.

In the third case a karaoke owner called Jaruwan, 54, was arrested in Cha-uat district of Nakhon Sri Thammarat for soliciting for sex.

Two employees at her karaoke - Laotian nationals named Su, 33, and Maneewan, 30 - were busted for illegally providing sexual services.

A sting was conducted in which an officer paid 2,000 baht for sex with Su, 300 baht of which would have gone to the karaoke. She entered Thailand through the border in the south at Satun.

Maneewan was also offering sexual services at the establishment.

Above and beyond the call of duty, :whistling:

So did the officer get his monies worth, or did Su find out he was a policeman. She would have come running and the officer would have run cu- - ing.

I'll get my coat.

With land borders closed and the "300 baht" per head handling fee gone I guess there might be some help at hand?
