REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo (Reuters) - After several weeks of trading in narrow ranges, bitcoin breached $10,000 on Sunday for the first time since early June. In addition to suffering pricing blows due to the economic fallout from the coronavirus outbreak, the virtual currency went through its third so-called halving on May 11, which cut the rewards given to those who "mine" bitcoin to 6.25 new coins from 12.5. The "halving" has affected the supply side of bitcoin and increased the time needed for miners to find their break-even point. On Sunday, the cryptocurrency hit highs of $10,200. -- © Copyright Reuters 2020-07-27 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Oxx
And to think that John McAfee, three years ago, bet it would $500,000 by now. I won't be tuning in to see him eat his penis on live television.

techietraveller84
And it could be $8k by Friday. Bitcoin is educated gambling. And no matter which direction it goes, some people are going to make fortunes off it, while others are going to lose fortunes.

how241
If you are a long term Holder, these swings don't matter. The ONLY price that matters is when you hit the sell button. The rest is just noise. If your a trader then it is a different game.
