for all those who think the restaurant broke any discrimination law ...

i think most people are aware no legislation regarding racial discrimination exists in thailand. and even if there was would it be enforced?

Thailand don't welcome foreigners but foreigners still come in droves. Ironic, isn't it?

That depends on your perspective....   We are discussing a small minority whose attitudes are distasteful.

In general the vast majority of Thai’s are welcoming and highly accommodating of foreigners, which is one of the reasons foreigners have always come in droves.

These reports standout because of their rarity, but its possible that this level of distasteful behaviour while extremely rare is on the increase, either that or we have become more attuned to such issues and are noticing them more.

It's at the end of Ratchada soi 32, small shopping arcade and at the back is the bar complex. There is a uni nearby.

You can take Soi 32 to Soi 36 to Wang Hin 61 and then it is across Lat Prao Wang Hin Road but the closest University is about 2km away.

Isn't Yan Marchal the French guy who criticized the Thai government with a song a while back?

He's lucky the government hasn't sent him back yet.

What about the Thais who came back from abroad and didnt go into Quarantine ?

Would you be scared of going into a restaurant with felangs inside ?

Which Thai’s ????

ALL Thai’s returning to Thailand via Air have to stay in SQ (State Quarantine) for 15 days or ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) for 15 days.

ALL Thai’s returning to Thailand via a land border have to stay in LSQ (Local State Quarantine) for 15 days or ALSQ (Alternative Local State Quarante) if locally available for 15 days.

No one is entering Thailand without first staying in Quarantine with the exception of some ‘special cases’ Diplomats, Military Personnel and those who’ve been given official / special permission.

hmmm .... maybe he's had several bad experiences with foreigners in the bar and decided he'd had enough.  Anyway, his bar ... he can serve who he damn well pleases. imo

If farangs are offended ....  look for another friendlier bar.

Somehow I doubt it, hardly any foreigners in this part of BKK. Spot the white man walking down the streets.

What about the Egypt guy? And African girl? Two week ago.

They have covid.

safety first.

Not scared.

Worry. How I know? Maybe it Logosone, Dr Tuner, ionsone, etc.

1 in 6 not full baht.

How about all the other Thai coming back over the border? How many of the soldiers in the same situation as "Egypt guy" and "African girl"? How about all the people slipping over the border, and the migrants in detention who were found to be infected? How about the staff working at that detention center? How about the staff at quarantine center?

The one time where the complete lack of english skill works out in the favour of the natives. No problem talking <deleted> about everyone else when it all sounds like chicken scratch to the cash cows.

What's your secret for getting the after-taste of boot polish out of the tongue?

Dont be so obtuse , its well know that this Government doesnt take to well to criticism and its well known that some government ministers are not too welcoming to felangs .

That kind of video isnt going to give the Gov any reason to appreciate us any more , especially after they gave us all a visa amnesty

Could be that it is a Student bar and they had problems with retired Westerners going to the bar just to look at the students and drink one beer all night long ?

Is that what they told you?

What about the thousands of Thais that get repatriated every week? Oh yes! they never have Covid so they can celebrate their return, at Full moon, right away.

Spot on .... Thais returning from US, UK etc etc ... Now get 'locked up' for 14 days (free of charge) ..... Farang that are able to return also get 'locked up' for 14 days (at a cost) .....   so same same in terms of C-19 risk to 3rd party post 14 days ... ONLY difference ... is how they look ...

You also have Chinese students .. that go to Uni in Thailand .. they are also returning now ...

This place should have its license removed and be closed for a few months as a form of punishment.

Remember the place in Chiang Mai that had a 'No Chinese' sign on display back in about February? That did not go down very well.

why ?   he hasn't broken any law.   If he doesn't want foreigners then so be it.  His loss in income.

Why worry ...
