webfact
Saraburi bridging gap to local govt office By The Nation The Department of Rural Roads says construction of a bridge to link Saraburi’s City Hall and Government Office with Mittraphap Road should be completed next year. The reinforced concrete bridge will stretch 670 metres over Phriao Canal and carry a 13-metre-wide road plus two-metre-wide walkway. Construction is 37-per-cent complete and ahead of schedule, according to the department's director-general Pathom Chaloeywares. "We are now building the bridge's bases and pillars, and expect them to be finished in 2021," he said. "The project’s 2019-2021 budget is worth Bt274 million." He said the bridge would ease travel to Saraburi Government Office, which is located on the north bank of the Khlong Phriao and lacks direct access to Mittraphap Road on the other side of the canal. "The bridge will also help reduce traffic jams in local neighbourhoods as well," he added. "The project is in line with Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob's policy to improve people's quality of life."
