This is Thailand, not the US.

One of many in a state of total and utter despair? I hope he gets the help he needs.

We don't know the cause of his actions.  It could be relationship break down, it could be drug psychosis.  It may not be financial issues.

Does any of the things you mention make it okay to swing a knife at police? Why is it that we should understand everything today, and look for a cause. Why is this person doing this? There is no need for such BS. The only thing we need to know is:

  • If a relationship brakes down, then you just live with it.
  • You do not risk to fall into a drug psychosis.
  • If financial issues, you deal with it and make more money.

Morons without backbone, just makes me sick.

Think his neck now ok.

Police not stand on his neck, 9 minutes, not breathing.

often the crazy guy with knive, etc like this is because broke heart or Yaba.

Is Pattaya. Maybe is both.

if is heart maybe police/court forgive that, no jail. Sympathy

if is Yaba with weapon at police, he be go jail 5+. No sympathy.

Video will show if he truly threatened police with the knife.

True, the police in Thailand always show a lot of empathy to emotionally affected persons, which is what is needed to heal them. No stupid show of strength and power, like a knee on his neck.

If it's heartbreak, and he didn't threaten police, what offence has been committed, or than disturbing the peace?  I can't see jail time for that.

swung the knife at the cops

If his urine purple he be go jail 5+

yaba make some people dangerous. Stole. Argue. Fight. Rape. Make problems for society.

Yaba make good people be terrible.

IMO good they jail.

Drug offenders account for 70 per cent of the men in prison and 87 per cent of women.

I edited my post.

Video will show if he "swung the knife at police" or he was just waving the knife around.  Big difference.

No argument from me about possible drug use.

If he was just waving a knife around , just let him continue .

Only need to take action if other people are in danger

I agree, but I don't expect the police to allow the situation to continue for hours, especially when he has no hostage.

Eh!  What has a suicidal Thai got to do with a US criminal intent on resisting arrest?

Die they shoot him? He is fully tattoed, so most likely a criminal anyway.

Or a very religious soul, just look at all the tat's most monks have :whistling:

As for the knife, maybe he wanted to shave with it like in the movies

He only showed it to the cops to ask if it was sharp enough

That's my take on the subject, but I'm suffering from the affects of a bottle of rum that was off  :shock1:
