Trump says federal government should again seek death penalty for Boston bomber Tsarnaev

Recommended Posts

Spending the rest of his life getting his digestive system re-arranged, among other unpleasantness.  He probably looks at death as a form of relief after all these years.

You have taken my post out of context. However, no, it's not just 'one person', many are against the death penalty. Islamists are not deterred by the death sentence, nor has it been proven the death penalty is a deterrent to murder in the general population.

Proven repeatedly.

Death penalty doesn't deter.

Victims are bad judges.

If a new trial for sentencing is held it should be fair.

“Death penalty doesn’t deter” 🤣

Have you ever known an executed terrorist reoffend?

And this is how you win votes. Trump is connecting and resonating with citizens interested in maintaining justice. I suspect most Americans, bar a tiny minority of extreme leftists, want the Boston bomber to get the death penalty.

 LAW AND ORDER!

law and order?  the president publicly demanding a certain outcome via tweet?

"SHOULD GET DEATH PENALTY!" says the president.

great way to ensure the bad guys lawyers have grounds to appeal again and again and again.  trump just guaranteed this will be in the courts for decades.

There are opposite views, but general scientific opinion is that it doesn't deter crime, https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/policy-issues/deterrence

Agreed, and there will always be opposing opinions no matter what the subject happens to be.
