DOGS roaming yard

Hello--for those who may live in a rural area, but sometimes in a city as well, who have dogs who roam day and night all over the yard, or within large grassy areas that are walled--do you have concerns, or can offer any advice, about your dogs encountering snakes, large frogs (if they grab or eat, will make them sick), etc--anything you do, in particular, to help prevent this?

I think that dogs know enough to leave snakes alone. Ours will bark and get excited when they see a snake, but they never tried to kill one. Some dogs are of course experts at killing snakes.

Yep! I have 3 dogs, and one (a medium schnautzer mix), has bitten twice snakes, without herself getting hurt. The first one was  non poisonous snake and I was able to rescue, but the 2nd one was a young cobra (almost a meter long). When I came home from shopping, the cobra was in attack position at our terras in front of the dog, which was barking and circling the snake. after restraining the dog, and catching the cobra I saw 4 bite marks on the body of the snake. Don't know if the snake survived. let it go 15km from my home... Amazing thailand ????

My dogs (bull terrier, weimaraner & dalmatian) live in the house & go in the garden supervised. They get an on & off lead walk for 5km each day.i taught them to leave snakes, toads & water monitor lizards
