The victims claimed that they had been talked into investing in the business by friends and acquaintances, who maintained that it was legal and certified overseas

Well it couldn't be Thai as our leader said some years back, "no Thai would do such a thing"

He was refering to the parallel universe in which he and his cronies live.

After joining with an initial investment of Bt10,000, they were talked into spending more on the scheme with a promise of 10-per-cent returns, one of the victims said, adding that they were also told that they will get their capital back after a year.

I wonder if the "mental health issues" road show will be calling!!!

Just the usual greedy types that fail to realise there is always risk with everything and should have known better. 10% is La-La Land at the moment and should have seen it coming as too good to be true. Scams are everywhere now. Strange that these people think there is a safety net on this sort of stuff ... morons.
