rooster59 Posted August 8, 2020 Share Posted August 8, 2020 Thai FA needs to borrow money for first time in 104 years to stay afloat Image: Thai Rath Former commissioner general of the Royal Thai Police Gen Somyot Poompanmoung revealed that the Football Association of Thailand was having to borrow money to stay afloat. Now chief of the Thai FA, Somyot said that arrangements would be in place before the Thai league kicks off on September 12th. Jirat Janthasen, vice president of the Football History Association of Thailand said on his personal Facebook page that if the loan arrangement goes ahead it will be the first time in the 104 year history of the FA that they have had to borrow money. He said the move was made in order to avoid damage to the FA's reputation as a body under patronage. joebrown Posted August 9, 2020 Share Posted August 9, 2020 In his earlier role as Chief of Thai Police Somyot had no difficulty with borrowing money, albeit from less than reputable sources. Failing that, he could always lend some of his 'unusual' wealth to the Thai FA, at a reasonable rate of 10% per month. After all, he's reputed to be an astute business man!
