A farmer in Loei province has sought help from local officials after seven of her cows were killed in a lightning strike, as storm-hit areas experienced more damage than expected.

On Saturday (August 8 ), Dan Sai Police Station was notified of the incident in which seven cows of a famer in Dai Sai district were killed by a lightning during a storm.

Bantao Jantarak, the farmer, said that the storm lashed her village for 30 minutes before the lightning killed seven breeders valued at Bt35,000 to Bt40,000 each in the market.

She said local markets do not accept meat from cattles killed by lightning.

The officials later warned farmers in the area not to put any kind of metals, especially copper, near their livestock to prevent similar losses.

Holy cow, seven all in one go. I feel sorry for the farmer. Perhaps the Watchman will arrange some financing for the lady.

I imagine the village will be invited to the barbecue?

Interesting, I wonder why not.

May have to take the meat further afield.
