Appeal Court confirms prison sentence for Premchai

Italian-Thai Development President Premchai Karnasuta was sentenced to six months in jail for possessing a rifle without permission

 

The Appeal Court on Tuesday (August 11) sentenced Premchai under the Firearms and Ammunition Act 1947 for possession of a rifle in Bangkok without permission.

Police puzzled over man shot at close range in Chumphon

1 drowned, another missing in storm off Nakhon Si Thammarat

A tourist has drowned and a 63 year old man remains missing, presumed drowned, after a tour boat capsized during a sudden rainstorm in Thong Nian Bay, off Khanom district in Nakhon Si Thammarat yesterday. The incident happened around 3pm when a sudden storm, over-turning the boat and dropping everyone in the water.

Schools, universities to fully open from Thursday

Schools, colleges and universities across the country are set to reopen on Thursday (August 13), but under strict measures to combat Covid-19. The Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) today sent a letter to all educational institutes nationwide, telling them they could resume teaching classes as normal from Thursday.
