However, for months now, their efforts to preserve the traditional performing art has been threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Will they win this battle or will it be their end? No one can tell yet, writes Taing Rinith. In an open-air pavilion of an art school in a rural village near Siem Reap province’s Banteay Srei Temple, a group of Cambodian ladies, aged 18 to 26, can be seen rehearsing a Royal ballet dance.
