Yewbzee
My current 12 month retirement Non 'O' expires next month and I'm just lining myself up ready for the usual jump through the circus hoops. Do I need a medical certificate for this at Jomtien immigration? Cheers

HarrySeaman
Not a medical certificate but you do need insurance. If you are unable to get medical insurance for a reasonable price talk Jessataporn Sriboo (Mr. Chang) at Chang Pattaya Services, the visa services company next to the Jomtiem Immigration office that takes photos and does photo copying for your visa renewal. He will take care of everything for a reasonable cost. Edited August 12, 2020 by HarrySeaman

WRONG!! A Non-O does NOT require insurance. A NON O-A does. 5

When I checked a few months ago you get a Non 0-A marriage visa if you convert a Non O-A visa, such as a Non O-A retirement visa, into a marriage visa. You only get a Non O marriage visa if your current visa is a Non O visa or if you get it while on a tourist visa.
crazykopite
Koh Samui IO require those with an extension of stay ( retirement ) visa to have a medical certificate no older than 7 days before renewal it is also required for new applicants . I cannot speak for the rest of the Kingdom as every IO seems to have there own rules

Thai is not possible unless you apply for a new visa at embassy or consulate. You just change the reason for your extension of stay (it is not a visa) from retirement to one based upon marriage to a Thai.

Yewbzee
I can confirm after visiting the Jomtien Immigration office, neither a medical cert or insurance was required for Non 'O' retirement. Thanks for all the input chaps.
