Popular Post webfact
COVID-19 to Boost Thai Medical Industry BANGKOK (NNT) - Though COVID-19 has badly impacted many industries, some such as medical science and technological advancement may benefit from aspects of the crisis. The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, has suggested Thai entrepreneurs grab the opportunity to develop inovations, and some Chinese medical equipment companies are preparing to move their production bases to Thailand. Mr. Aat Pisanwanich, Director, Center for International Trade Studies (CITS), University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, said today a major factor affecting the thinking of foreign entrepreneurs especially Chinese businesses to open branches and production bases in Thailand, is the COVID-19 pandemic. As it has affected the whole business cycle, business operators must consider the rise in capital costs and other risks. Foreign entrepreneurs have also noted that Thailand has shown an ability to cope with the pandemic, while the Thai workforce has quality and, the landscape facilitates transportation. Thailand should take advantage of the COVID-19 epidemic by promoting and supporting the needs of the health industry such as rubber gloves, dietary supplements, cosmetics, medical equipment, electronic products and IT products. However, the disadvantage is political uncertainty, wage hikes, and the strength of the Thai baht. 86Tiger
This is rich. Why would China, with essentially unlimited slave labor, export manufacturing to Thailand? I guess I don't understand big bid-ness........

How can you be a medical hib when you deliberately ignore testing your populace for a pandemic ? Do some more testing you clowns before thinking you are a great medical hub ! UK tests 18.8 million - tests per million 277,000 - 27% Thai tests a pathetic 749,000 - 10,000 per million 1%

I read into this that CCP want to grab a load of the Thai Rubber Market, a basic Raw Material for Surgical Gloves.. There have been recent reports about Glove Manufacturers expanding and building new Factories.
vermin on arrival
"Thailand should take advantage of the covid epidemic"...something about this individual's statements makes me ill. MRToMRT
This is a strange statement, it takes year/s to make agreements and set up factories. What has this got to do with COVID??? Its simply pushing for tax relief or other reliefs to attract Chinese businesses who are big enough to want to push production overseas in case of future market disruptions. Obviously attracting non-tourism business to Thailand is good but what has it to do with COVID??
