webfact
COVID-19 aid recipients asked to check transfers BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Finance is now looking into the plight of those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but have not received their financial aid of 5,000 baht per month. Over 15 million people are eligible for the three-month long assistance program, with most reporting that they have already received the payments. Those who have yet to receive their entitlement may have been affected by a closed bank account or a lack of PromptPay. The ministry is asking those who have not received their funds to check with เราไม่ทิ้งกัน.com where a green button for eligible individuals who have not yet received the transfers has been added. Recipients need only enter their identification number to check on the status of their entitlement and to initiate a PromptPay account or check with their bank if a problem is indicated. The ministry is considering concluding transfers within an appropriate time frame, and asks all those facing issues to promptly address them. The Director of the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) and Spokesman of the Ministry of Finance, Lawaron Sangsanit, said today a total 15.3 million people are eligible for the aid with an estimated 70,000 yet to receive transfers. The program attempts to make payments on a weekly basis, and updates individuals via the short message service (SMS) but based on the belief that some in this group may have changed mobile phone numbers, the website was recently updated. The FPO has insisted that the program is not open for a new round of applications and is not adding individuals. It is only seeking to complete payments for those already eligible.
