changing job in covid

Recommended Posts

Hi,

If I change my job, the current company will cancel my work permit and visa. The new company will apply work permit and visa but I checked I can only stay here for 7 days after cancellation. So, the company has to apply and get my work permit with 7 days. But if I don't get it within these days, is it possible to stay here until 26 September (covid update news) or I have to leave the country?

Thanks in advance.

There is no 7 days to do it. You have to apply for a new extension of stay on the day your current one is canceled using a termination letter from you employer.

Your new employer can apply for a work permit and obtain a work permit application approval that can be used to apply for new extension. Then after your extension is issued your current work permit can be canceled and the new one issued.

BOI work permits are given 7 days after the work permit is cancelled.

The 7 day is to leave the country after the extension of stay is cancelled.

There is no 7 days after cancelation to get a new work permit and new extension.
