Photo: Eakkapop Thongtub) PHUKET: Police have arrested a motorbike repair shop owner north of Phuket Town for possession of a stolen motorbike and seized seven other motorbikes. The motorbike repair shop owner claims he did not know the motorbike was stolen, saying it was accepted as collateral for a loan given to one of his customers. Maj Eakkarat Chartphai of the Phuket Provincial Police and other officers moved in and arrested Anek Thachumpha, originally from Lopburi, at a house in Moo 3, Rassada, early Thursday morning (Aug 13). In the back of a Toyota Mighty X pickup truck parked front of the house was a Honda PCX motorbike covered with a tarpaulin. "for possession of a stolen motorbike and seized seven other motorbikes" Yea, I to read the text carefully to understand it was 1+7, and not another instance of 'cop math' (by either over-estimating street value of evidence, or stealing portions of it before or while in lockup). That's some great coverage by CCTV if they could track all the way to Anek's house.
