The suspect in the shooting of two men at a set of deck chairs on the north end of Cha-Am beach on Tuesday evening gave himself up to police about four hours after the incident.

He denied everything. His hands were checked for gunpowder residue.

Cha-Am police station chief Pol Col Woradech Suankhlai said he did not bring the gun used in the incident with him. Police are hunting for it.

Thanaphon, 32, was charged with attempted murder, having a weapon in public and discharging it.

Next day (Wednesday at 11am) police allowed him to walk free.

They granted him bail in the sum of 400,000 baht with one deputy saying they were confident that he would not interfere with witnesses.

Meanwhile on Wednesday 77kaoded reported that the two victims who were shot multiple times are critically injured in hospital.

Both are in comas at Phra Jom Klao Hospital in Phetchaburi and both have collapsed lungs.

Most seriously hurt is Jurakit, 35, who was hit five times. The other victim is Krissada, aged 25.

There was evidence of at least 14 shots having been fired at the scene opposite Soi 4 at the north end of Cha-Am beach, a popular tourist area.

It was reported that the alleged shooter is a member of the Cha-Am municipal council or "tessaban".

Police said that further charges could follow depending on the condition of the victims and that bail could also be increased.

How on earth can you give bail to someone who has admitted shooting multiple bullets into two people.

I must have missed it as where does it say he admitted anything?

From the article -

Obviously he is a hiso.

And the criminal code of Thailand - itself consisting of paragaphs similar to rubberbands - is only a tool to serve conveniently the real, unwritten law of Thailand, which is Sakdina.

What kind of gun would carry 14 rounds? M-16 or an AK-47

Most modern semi-auto hand guns are capable of holding up to 17 rounds per magazine.

Plus "one-up-the-spout" if you want to make sure no-one walks away.

Must be Innocent didn't bring the gun ????

Must be innocent because:

they were confident that he would not interfere with witnesses and the alleged shooter is a member of the Cha-Am municipal council or "tessaban".

Look, come on, what are all these stupid comments about?

He gave himself up because he is a suspect, but says he didn't do it. So why does the article say he didn't bring the murder weapon. If he says he didn't do it?

Anyone actually reading the article, before becoming a chatting washerwoman?
