webfact
Mae Hong Son struggles with inundation after heavy rains The overflowing Yom River inundated agricultural farms in Mae Hong Son, as heavy rains lashed the province. Residential areas in Pang Mu subdistrict were inundated. The rains also caused landslides around the border areas, bringing trading with Myanmar to a halt due to non-availability of transport. Water logging was reported from areas around Mae Hong Son Airport and the authorities had to drain the water into other areas of the city. Provincial officers of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation had to operate pumps in the city all night to tackle the inundation problem. Mae Hong Son Governor Suwapong Kittipatpiboon has sent letters to all district chiefs and responsible organisations to monitor the situation and prepare to evacuate people. mhs.mp4 Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30393395 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2020-08-24 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
