The flood situation in Sukhothai province is getting worse after the surging water toppled more than 20 electrical posts.

On Sunday (August 23), water from Yom River overflowed and entered Ban Wang Hin village, leaving people stranded in their houses.

The rescue team had to send boats to evacuate people who lived in one-storey houses and residents of houses with more than two stories asked for help to move their belongings to a higher level.

The Sukhothai Provincial Electricity Authority also had to cut electricity supply in the areas after more than 20 electrical posts collapsed.

Maybe they should think about setting power poles in concrete, instead of just pushing them into the soft earth.

Yes indeed, how often do you see this alongside roads in rural Thailand??? - but not with a helicopter!
