In an operation led by the Wild Hawk Force under the Department of National Parks Wildlife and Plants, Pongsakorn Boonta, 29, was arrested and taken to Mae Ka Police Station. Police also found many different species of birds and reptiles at the suspect’s house. Officials have been following the Facebook page Pongsakorn used for his wildlife trading and presented it as evidence to seek an arrest warrant for the suspect from Phayao Provincial Court. The more than 20 wild animals found in Pongsakorn’s home included sooty-headed bulbul, grey-headed parakeet, small buttonquail, Nicobar pigeon, peacock, South Asian box turtle and giant Asian pond turtle.
