webfact
Man allegedly kills mum accidentally in brawl with wife By THE NATION A man allegedly killed his mother accidentally on Sunday (August 30) while he was threatening his wife with a gun in Chachoengsao province. Wang Koo Police Station was informed about a brawl in a house located in Sanam Chai Khet district. Police found the body of a woman lying on the floor with a bullet wound on her collarbone. She was identified as Samlee Buakam, aged 60. Beside her body was her son, Apichat Viriyatham, aged 31, who allegedly shot her dead with a handgun. According to police interrogation, Apichat had a quarrel with his wife, Angkana Payakka, 29, who ran to her mother-in-law for protection. The son reportedly accidentally fired at his mother, causing her death. Apichat reportedly told police that he had only wanted to threaten his wife with his gun, and he had accidentally pulled the trigger, killing his mother. Well, going through there could do all kinds of damage to a lung or even her spinal cord. It all depends on the trajectory of the bullet before and after hitting a bone. As for the topic, this guy needs to spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars. Abusing any women is bad enough, but pointing a gun at your wife, especially when she's hiding behind your mother is almost as low as you can get. For their sake, I hope they don't have kids. Bullets aren't well behaved once they enter your body, hit bones, start tumbling and fragmenting.
Crusader
If you even have a gun...and point it at someone - well, the intent is there. Maybe a plot by him and the wife...

Scott Tracy
Accidentally had a handgun, accidentally loaded it, accidentally released the safety, if there was one, accidentally appointed it at his mother, accidentally pulled the trigger. The man is a <deleted>.

And I am wondering about the use of the word "allegedly". "Man accidentally kills mum in brawl with wife" might have been more accurate. Or is the word "allegedly" required because he has not been formally charged in a court of law?Even so, it's problematical. Reminds me of an earlier post on this forum about a toilet flush on an airplane revealing the Covid-19 status of a passenger. Word usage led me to think that the inanimate object was suddenly imbued with life.

Some are operated by pressure on the lever in the rear of the grip and only require squeezing, not actually flicking an on/off switch.
