Even domestically, how many criminals have we seen pay for their freedom after a crime, Thai and farang? It's Thailand's famous never ending "bail" or charges simply disappear. You can murder someone here, but if the victim's family accept 1 million in compensation, and along with a brokerage payment to the BiB, you are back in the bar in a few days time. Do you deny this? I like it here, but I am under no illusions that Thailand attracts criminals from the west, especially Pattaya, where I am. Often they are not interested to make anything better. And even if problem A would be solved they wouldn't be happy. They would right away move to problem B.
