Last year International Living published a top 5 list of the best places to live in Thailand and I must say, although some I can agree with, I just do not buy into their claims. I made this vlog a year back now but never actually published it here on my website, but when I checked it out found the subject very interesting.

I am sure you have your opinions too on the subject so do drop a comment below. Quick footnote, I stand corrected on ‘fresh air’ in Chaing Mai – I visited only once before outside the farming burning season!

Is it me or is this another ( there have been many on here recently ) attempt by Dan to get us to read his Vlog, Blog and Podcasts ??

Maybe he knows or has a family member on tv staff.

Blogger, vlogger maybe a logger, boring and out of touch.

I like it up here in the Northeast countryside. After @ 30 years on the

road selling Aerospace products the body decided to slow down a bit

at 66. Loved it in the road Southwest US/Mexico/APAC fulltime for 13

years living 10 of those in China...

People have many ideas of what’s Top 5 and depends on their likes..

Anywhere in the north or central will have pollution problems for half the year. No thanks.

Unfortunately you are right.

I do prefer the colder climate here up North, but when the air pollution starts I always leave for a few months.

Still looking for an elevated area, further South and closer to the sea, but have found it yet.

Whenever I read any web site about Thailand and they say things like:

"You can access quality healthcare, and there’s plenty to keep you busy—from yoga and Pilates to salsa dancing and bridge club—when you’re not soaking up the sun on one of the island’s many beaches."

Then I know it is a load of khrapp.

Chiang Mai is best for mature/retired Expats - downsides are 'smoke season' and 'distance' (by car).

Pattaya or Phuket is best for the 'fun seeking' younger crowds - downside is all the young fun seekers/tourists.
