davemos
A proposal allowing police to preemptively lock up those they believe “might” violate coronavirus lockdown measures has gone before the Victoria state parliament, with many fearing it opens the door to unprecedented abuses. If passed, the law would allow police to indefinitely detain any Victoria resident who either tests positive for Covid-19 or is a close contact of someone who has, as long as the officer believes they are “likely to refuse or fail to comply” with quarantine regulations. The state’s parliament began hearings on Thursday but has not issued a public decision as of Friday.
tifino
Dunno Andrews is reacting to the general public perception of him, and his cronies... ...listens to no one, but his CCP bosses his BIBs are stomping on peoples heads with their Boots (as actually Reported on mainstream News services) ... and he knows his End is Nigh; and currently in the midst of executing his Scorched Earth policy It is currently a Sad place to be... Even if you want to go Exercise, or go Essential Shopping; his goons can without visible cause pull you up - and the first thing they do is grab your mobile phone - to interrogate the Maps Timeline, to see if you have either been away from home for over an hour, or strayed further than 5km from your personal ghetto... Popular Post 86Tiger
As every day passes it is proven this virus is not the death sentence originally portrayed. Governments all across the globe refuse to admit overreaction and fear liability for killing livelihood of millions of their citizens so they double down on tyranny hoping no one will notice the virus is fizzling out.

No government ever claimed that the virus was a "death sentence". The isse has always been the direct cost of a large portion of a population becoming ill and the contnued physical damage in a large number of patients. The strategies deployed by many of the governments were successful in controlling the spread of infection, and now ignorant people blame the government for the success of the strategy. Instead of making an exaggerated unfounded claim, why not back up your position with some numbers? How much would it have cost if the infection ran its course infecting large numbers and causing them to miss work for 2-4 weeks at a time? What was your strategy for coping with the 10-20% of the population who would have been ill over a continuous period? There is no proven "herd immunity" and a growing indication of reinfection, what is your cost to that? On what basis do you claim the virus is "fizzling out"? The evidence is plain as day that when containment efforts are loosened, the virus infections surge. You know everything, so please cost it out for us. The evidence is plain as day that when containment efforts are loosened, the virus infections surge. You know everything, so please cost it out for us. The issue for me is not so much the containment measures. The Government has the data and the resources, I and people like me don't. So they do what they do. The issue is, because the measures have been so draconian, so untargeted and widespread that many people have questioned them. Now most people are happy to just use social media and their own networks to complain about such things, but some people want to protest. Some other people, covidiots as they are called on another post want to protest against 5G, masks etc. So the Victorian Police Assistant Commissioner labelled them all in together as tin foil hat wearing nut jobs or language to that effect. He was wrong in my opinion to involve himself politically, cause his commentary in effect greenlighted the police to be at the very least extremely proactive, non discretionary and at worst violent in their treatment of people out and about in contradiction of the orders. There have been some very bad optics. This was the same police officer who said that police were unable to stop a black lives matter protest earlier in the pandemic which was also illegal. Hence people are having their theories about dictator Dan etc. Because he is micromanaging the situation I dont think he's had time to reflect on things that he would regard as completely unimportant, but they are, he should have that cop removed and he should dial down the rhetoric, in fact it might be better if he stopped the daily press conference which is completely unnecessary and work on his communication strategy to try and include everybody, not just his supporters.
