Thai media takes aim at plans to make 14 day quarantine fun and interesting

That was not what I had experienced at all ...

simply put like a hail but in a nice room.

the highlight of the day waiting for the the one hour walk around the swimming pool in the afternoon .
Apart from that, the time passed like slowest ever hours.

thanks to internet one can keep up with family and friend back around the world.
After all, it’s very good precautions that Thailand has put for quarantine .

much better than the rest of the world countries .

Reading this story reminds me of talking to a sleazy car salesman when I was 17 buying my first car.

If people are stupid enough to believe this they should go to thailand and enjoy their great isolation experience.  Blog about it, and take lots of pictures of your hotel room.

And <deleted> is with that picture of people at that beach?

This is all baloney, no one in the right mind will travel and spend 14 days in quarantine.

It's time for a change at the top IMHO!

In Hawaii you can go there and if you're from certain countries no quarantine.

Am I going?  Nope.  If something happens and I get stuck there I'll be pretty unhappy.  Plus I've got to quarantine when I get home 14 days, if I get home, if they don't cancel my flight...

Doesn't matter how you try to dress it up, 14 days quarantine will not be fun or interesting and they are kidding themselves if they expect foreigners to be queuing up in their droves to participate.

Please don't discourage them, while they are playing silly b uggers, they are not coming up with stupid ideas to pester the expats trying to mind their own business and keep a low profile.

TAT are always positive, fun loving and optimistic like this.

It's a pity their boss comes from a time when dinosaurs were the most intelligent beings on the planet and dictators could rule countries with impunity.

He will definitely not allow people to have fun in quarantine. That is for sure. He has so little joy in his life he likes to suck the joy out of everyone and everything else. Everybody knows that.

Have been browsing some Canadian forums.

Everyone is talking about Maldives and some nice discounts they offer as of late. Thailand is crickets.

And really when you think about it Maldives is a giant made to stay resort. No place in Thailand can compete with this.

The worst part is that thaying in Maldives for 2 weeks seems to be cheaper (after discounts) than staying in Phuket.

Food for thought, but then again what thought.

Strangely enough, was just looking at Maldives myself following a Fly Dubai ad.. Visa on arrival (need test no older than 72 hours). Pretty attractive if Thailand is not possible.

Pizza topped with "kaeng khiaw waan" or green curry.

or for those not on an Italian language ED-visa:

green curry pizza ??
the deliciously big mother of the neighbor throws her hands up in the air in dispair..
"" Mamma mia, what a monstrosity, but pizza, ah pizza so delicious, first you knead the flour ....... "" eight minutes explanations later the mama says: "" Covid drives people crazy ""

My apologies, the sheer lunacy of this article is easily the dumbest thing on the internet.

Just so I can add one last perspective on this, and I'll stop:

You get COVID on the plane (a significant possibility).  14 days quarantine... you get it.  Now you have that annoying nasal singing and music booming (you know it will be booming) out side your window while you writhe in pain.
Oh think of the memories kids.  I really think that people should go for it.

if you love the sea, Scuba, and don't mind a small island (or flying on a water plane), very relaxing.
Candle light dinner on the beach, butler service.
Was there not too long ago on a FAM trip. if interested PM me.

I cannot help but wonder what the Captains of the tourist industry - the hotel managements and owners, the tour company bosses and owners, etc. - think of all this mindless crapola.

Might a good solution be to fire all the tmats at TAT and give the money to the newly unemployed? Oh sorry, brain f@rt, that would be themselves, wouldn't it!

Ok, here's my idea for them,

ESCAPE ROOM ADVENTURE

Have the room filled with puzzles and riddles to solve before the next door opens

Some can even be real-world and useful for later: Take a Thai Driving test, if/when you pass...

Bed-sheet Rope for Beginners

TAT governor Yuthasak Suphasorn said that interest at all TAT offices abroad was intense and that the STV would start in October.

"As soon as the STV news broke the London office had FIFTEEN calls," he said,"and there were SIXTEEN emails".

How many phone calls and emails does the TAT office in London normally get in a day?

Realistically, I'm going to wait until about December in order to look back on all of the success stories that TAT generates about the beloved Special Tourist Visa.  And then compared those 'stories' to actual reality.  That actually may be immensely humorous.

Problem solved.

“What we’re trying to do is to make the 14-day quarantine more interesting and fun than just watching Netflix,” Srisuda said.  Perhaps an assisted shower should be included?
