Because, to relax lockdowns now, and have those little red spots on the map wander far and wide will infect more people and the map will have more little red spots and more deaths....and guess what...longer lockdown again. It's not really that complex...just look at France, or Italy or the UK, and what happened in Victoria prior to the lockdowns to understand what would happen. Plain crazy huh? 2 1 1

The point of my post was, Norway, unlike Sweden, undertook a variety of control measures to limit the original outbreak of the CV in their country. As a result, their per capita death toll from CV in Norway and other nearby Nordic countries is magnitudes smaller than the per capita death toll in Sweden. 1

I will tell you something that the media do not. There is a very specific reason for that. I have family in Sweden (as all Norwegians do lol), and they have first hand knowledge about this. Sweden has had a massive influx of immigrants the last 20 years or so, and especially since 2015. What happened was, that a lot of these got a job in the health care sector, and mostly in old peoples home care facilities. Now, the majority of these people were never met with any demands of any sort, so they did not bother learning the countrys language. They worked, could only understand their home language, or in best case some very basic English. So when corona hit, they had no idea what was happening, and they infected thousands of those old people, before the Swedish Government understood what was happening. They later issued corona material and advice in their native languages, but it was too late. This is the true story of the massive deaths per capita in Sweden, and you will never hear it in main stream media. And im not trying to place blame, just stating facts. It could easily have been us, if we did not have had a stricter immigrant policy, with language demands. You would still not have gotten it right. Thailand may call them tourists; however, it is not people coming for an ordinary holiday, it is people like me staying for a long time in Thailand instead of spending the winter in their own countries. Staying 14 days in quarantine in a hotel is not that bad when you stay six months; the other requirements (and the price) may make the offer undesirable; however, we do not know the details yet.

Exactly the same thing happened in Australia, aged care facilities were staffed by casuals who were switched from nursing home to nursing home by operators trying to squeeze the last buck out of their asset. Sweden was open, 580 deaths per million. Australia was locked down, 33 deaths per million. More than 90% in aged care facilities. If it was your father or mother, which country would you rather they were in? Sweden has had 88,000 active cases, Australia 26,000. Forget about the death rate, the more cases you have, the more younger people will be having weeks and months of rehabilitation ahead of them. This virus damages lung tissue, it has a special affinity for it. Recovery from flu is 1 - 2 weeks, not months. That's what is left out by the Chicken Little economy propagandists, just like a coal company avoids mentioning how much carbon dioxide it generates from the product it sells. 1 2
