snoop1130
Chiang Mai says rumours of Covid deaths ‘fake news’ By The Nation Social media rumours of Covid-19 cases and deaths in Chiang Mai’s Chiang Dao district are fake news, city authorities warned on Monday. The rumours were investigated by provincial officials and Chiang Mai police and found to be untrue, Chiang Mai vice governor Komson Suwanampa said. Officials are now tracing the people who posted the rumours, which may have violated the Computer Crimes Act by causing public panic. Under the act, those found guilty of spreading fake information via social media face up to five years in jail and/or a fine of up to Bt100,000. Popular Post 4MyEgo
Yup, fake news, very few people have been know to have died from Covid-19, especially in Thailand. Take you pic, pneumonia, influenza and it's all good, the PM said he had it under control ages ago, and if there is any Covid-19 here it's because those coming here are bringing it in, which justifies the borders being closed, right ? 3 1 2

If it is justified that this is not correct information then the authorities have the option of putting out the correct details to appease people who hear things but cannot get any information. Threatening huge fines and jail time to those that try to share what they've heard is the way the military regime operate. 5
CLW
It's his word against hers. Government has failed to provide a negative Covid test, so everything is possible...
daveAustin
Pathetic. 30,000 people die on the roads, thousands more from flu, dengue etc etc etc, but can't have a couple dying of covid. No, that would be loss of face... at least if it got out.
