webfact
New home sought for pit bulls who savagely attacked owner’s daughter and son in law Not usually fierce A mother went to the media not knowing what to do after a pit bull brutally attacked her daughter and son-in-law leaving them seriously wounded in two hospitals. A mother went to the media not knowing what to do after a pit bull brutally attacked her daughter and son-in-law leaving them seriously wounded in two hospitals. Kotchaporn, 21, is in hospital in Pathum Thani after receiving 30 stitches to wounds on the back of her neck and head. She is facing more surgery. Her husband Prawit, 37, had his left arm torn apart needing a similar number of stitches and is in hospital in Ayutthaya , said his mother in law Waranrat, 41, who invited Sanook to the family's two homes next to each other in Wang Noi district. She said they had moved in just three months ago. Her daughter and son in law had two dogs. One was a pit bull called Bomb Bay, aged 4, another was a pit bull/Bang Kaew cross breed called Boo Boo, also 4. When reporters arrived Boo Boo was howling menacingly chained to a table. Bomb Bay was enclosed in a cage. Waranrat said that Bomb Bay was the one who attacked her relatives on Sunday. She said he had previously attacked her daughter's hand leading to many stitches. But she continued to look after him. On Sunday she heard her daughter desperately crying for help next door. Following the attack she had called the vets who had tranquilized Bomb Bay and caged him. Now she didn't know what to do with the animals and said she had no idea about this breed and wanted someone to give them a new home. She said they were normally playful and not fierce - they were just cry babies really. She needed help as she couldn't look after them. Popular Post RJRS1301
Seriously it has attacked once and lived to it again, I would suggest that MIL calls friendly vet for a needle for them both ( the dogs that is). Pitt Bulls can be unpredictable, new born child, 12 days old mauled to death by family Pitt Bull in Australia a few weeks ago, One wonders were they kept on chains without stimulation or exercise, as I have witnessed with too many "family" pets in Thailand, as well as some western countries Edited September 22, 2020 by RJRS1301 6

You're here, I'm here and a couple of other posters could be described as having common sense; perhaps you meant to say that, in your opinion, it's all Thais that don't have any common sense? You'd be wrong with that also. Edited September 22, 2020 by Hi Tea 3

Pitbulls were never bred to be aggressive to humans. Quite the opposite in fact, since they needed to be handled by the dog's owner mid-fight and live with the owner's family post fight. Of course, if you stick one in a cage and prod it with a stick for a few years it might be. Same as you or I might be.

The odds of being attacked by any breed of dog is much greater if the animal is not properly socialized and kept restrained either chained or caged. And I have noted that this particular feature comes up in almost every report I read when a dog attack is involved. Treat a dog badly and you risk reprisals. It's as simple as that.

steven100
What a crazy story that lacks any common sense. The dogs are friendly most of the time but then just turned vicious and attacked. MIL doesn't know what to do ? is she nuts ? there's only one thing you can do to make sure they don't attack again..... .22
2long
JonnyF & Moonlover are the only ones talking sense. All/any dog breed can attack, especially if mistreated. They need exercise, discipline and love/attention. In that order. Yes, the pit bull is the click bait. The thing is, most normal people can't handle fighting dogs, which need lots of discipline and exercise. And of course, when these particular breeds kick off, it's considerably worse than other breeds. These two shouldn't be around families, but putting them down for acting like this after being mistreated, and after being bred for what they were bred, is a bit unfair, isn't it?
tifino
she only refers to her own daughter in the category of 'relatives' - and conveniently the dogs were not in her own home , but next door with those 'relatives' mum doesn't seem to know how to pick her own nose ... and her only 'concerns' were for the dogs!
