EU caves: UK secures huge victory over London finances - Brussels give in after threat

BRUSSELS has granted permission to European banks to trade trillions of pounds through the City of London until 2022 amid fears of an acrimonious split with Britain.

The next to leave will be Italy ,just wait and see

Whatever happened to good old Sgt Rock? That was his favourite prediction too - sadly, his blood pressure seemed to spill over into TVF all too often, and when the Italians repeatedly let him down in 2014 and 2015 by their dogged refusal to kickstart the EU implosion, I think it was too much and sent him over the edge. Please, Bert, don't be like Sgt Rock.

Of course the French/German want no deal, if they can create tariffs/penalties vs UK it creates enough barriers to make their inefficient protection racket competitive - this is particularly true for financial services where they have made no progress thus far..

So you are saying the EU holds all the cards?

What an absolute load of <deleted> we would never have made it without America...you my son are a dreamer. Great Britain has never needed america .

Where would we have never made it without america.

As to your comment about the EU shaking you are quite correct with all the Bale out money it has to pay tor EU countries that can do nothing for themselves. GB has just started the penny rolling and it will come tumbling down around the EU just give it time.

You are hilarious my friend. You are also good at putting your own foot in your month. What did I say in my post? Yes, stop living on old war stories, and by the way.

That meant you had never made it without America in the second world war. Either you are too young to get it or just to ignorant. However if you think the price and the amount of money you already payed back for that help and the debt that you have left is too big of a burden, I suggest you talk to your friend Boris about that. Cheers!

Not sure how you reached that conclusion? Oh yes, political bias, that's it.

With 27 member states all vying for their self interests, and all unwilling to compromise for fear of upsetting powerful lobbies in their own countries, the chances of a deal were always low. It relied on the EU negotiators and Counsel exerting control and having sufficient influence on member states which they clearly don't. Boris and his buffoons aren't bright enough to exploit that either.

WTO deal, already sorted, easy.

You do realize that the UK isn't currently a member of the WTO don't you? And that any WTO can challenge a new applicant on any tariffs prior to membership which must be ratified by all members?

WTO - easy peazy, because Nigel Farage said so. When asked to explain the detail he was clueless. Like so many who repeat that mantra.

Please trump administration has undermined the functioning of WTO e.g. refusing to comply with appointing appeal judges, believe due to US ongoing dispute with China.

EU unity looking so well. See Cyprus trying to blackmail the EU now. Veto sanctions against Belarus unless EU agree to sanction Turkey!

27 member states - all happy as long as they get their own way and Germany keeps paying!

Sorry Germany, UK won't be paying like it did. Good luck.

No, it does not look well there either. However, they agree about many things and a big bloc always have more power than a single little Kingdom.

But anyway! Good Luck with the pound. Only lost half yet. There is more to give away. ????
