Indonesia reports biggest daily rise in coronavirus cases

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Indonesia reported 4,465 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, the country's biggest daily rise, taking the total number of infections to 257,388, data from the country's health ministry showed.

MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippine police and military on Wednesday denied any links to Facebook accounts that were taken down by the social media giant after it said they had engaged in "coordinated inauthentic behaviour" interfering in Asian and American politics.

LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - The world is becoming less tolerant of migrants, according to a poll released on Wednesday as Europe prepared to unveil a new asylum plan in the wake of a blaze at an overcrowded camp in Greece that left thousands without shelter.

LONDON (Reuters) - The British government on Wednesday defended its new, stricter coronavirus measures against criticism that they did not got far enough, saying it was trying to balance supporting the economy while protecting health.

LONDON (Reuters) - British trucks could face delays of up to two days to enter Europe and queues of around 7,000 lorries after Britain leaves the bloc at the end of this year, disrupting imports and exports of crucial goods, the government has warned.

PHUKET:-- Just over one year to the day since the last round of wild monkey mass sterilisations were held in Phuket, nearly 200 sterilised wild monkeys were released back into the wild at the Khao Phra Thaew nature reserve in Thalang yesterday (Sept 22).
