Thank you.... many years ago as an early Thailand tourist I was nervous to travel to Pattaya without a hotel booking, this was the days before Internet and Agoda! Those bookings made in Bangkok usually involved paying up front and a couple of times it appears the booking was on a single basis. Even early internet Forums would supply information on which hotels had joiner fees and which did not, it was quite common. There were hotels where you could not even get a girl in if she was not registered at check-in. Your comments seem to stem from a lack of experience.

There are a few buildings with helipads (at least Royal cliff, Wong Amat Tower, A-One, The Urban, The Sands, ... and even VT3, VT5, VT7!), but in Pattaya most hotels/condos will chose for a rooftop swimming-pool rather than an helipad. BTW not really difficult to land at the marina helipad and have a taxi to your near hotel.

blackcab
Off topic posts have been removed. This topic is not about the political situation in Thailand. It is about the Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya potentially closing due to their lease expiring.

shdmn
They will just change the name to Planet Pattaya or something. They seemed to be doing ok before covid and they will probably do ok after a name change and after covid. Sounds like the company that owns it has deep enough pockets to hang on till things get better. It's definitely not a good time to try sell anything right now unless you are desperate. champers
Hard Rock is an attractive global brand; many "collect" different branches around the world to stay at. The Chinese love it too, worth noting. It was doing fine pre Covid and the decline in numbers of Western visitors is no big deal there - except for those from USA who have a loyalty to their home brands. It is built in a style similar to many Vegas casinos - just saying. ????
LennyW
The buffets including free flow of beers at the Starz Diner were great value for money and a big spread of excellent food, back a few years now though!

It is classy, no doubt about that. They take a lot of group bookings that make it more affordable for some. I am basically saying that the brand is very strong and if anyone is going to replace it then it ought to be with something better. I don't think that is likely.
