Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow has highlighted long-term policies to promote sustainable Thai energy under the “BCG” – bio, circular, and green economy – concept.

Supattanapong said the policies were also designed to address the Covid-19 fallout, which would last for around 12 or 15 months, as well as future unpredictable events.

Thailand’s alternative energy development plan was still on track, along with the project to construct community power plants, he added. Alternative energy projects being supported by the ministry included domestic production of solar cells and electric vehicles.

The minister was speaking at the launch of the Asean Sustainable Energy Week (ASE) 2020, which is running at Bitec in Bangkok.

The event is themed “Energy Solutions for Smart Cities” and features real and virtual exhibitions, including test drives of battery electric vehicles.

The event runs through Saturday (September 26).

Why not let everyone generate their own and feed back to the grid without restrictions?

No you only want to sell 'approved' equipment, where the manufactures give you kickbacks.

No you only want to use 'approved' fitters, where they all pay you kickbacks.

No the electric company, only wants to pay people 1bht/unit for electricity they generate.

If you really want green energy, stop blocking everyone from producing it.

It is a business and then you want quality standards.

Brilliant!!! Good idea!!!.... but Mister; would you repair First the power system in my Chiang Mai village and stop to cut off every two days? I don’t need a smart City only electric light.
