BANGKOK, Sept 26 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha confirmed Thailand’s support for the United Nations in coping with challenges and achieving sustainable development and promised assistance for the development of COVID-19 vaccines.

Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said Gen Prayut sent his message via a video call to the 75th UN General Assembly at 4.30pm on Sept 25 at the New York time or at 3.30am of the Thailand time. The assembly was organized on the theme of “The future we want, the United Nations we need: reaffirming our collective commitment to multilateralism – confronting COVID-19 through effective multilateral action”.

The prime minister said that the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic was a global crisis and all countries would have to rely on mutual cooperation. He said Thailand was seriously attempting to control COVID-19 in line with the International Health Regulations (2005) and the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
