Thai Embassy here said Non O retirement / OA visa will be granted a COE. A bank statement showing 500k, 14 day ASQ is as always, she also mentioned could use commercial flights if available a long with repatriation flights and said they will know more near end of this week.....

Older people are more likely to die of Covid 19 than younger demographics but they are no more susceptible to catching it. In fact it is the younger demographic groups that are asymptomatic and therefore more likely to spread the virus without knowing. A small study in the UK showed almost a 33% of people who tested positive had no symptoms, making them very dangerous. This is why the virus has spread so widely.

Anyway, the 500.000 must stay on this (thai ?) account , they will not be able to spend it, as usual, or ?

Does it have to be in a thai bank ?

Does a portfollio of stocks count ? Life insurances, mutual funds ?

Always about money!!! What about people married with families, it is high time that there is some semblance of order with regard to releasing data on who is allowed and who is not, at the moment people are unsure what the truth is, there should be One spokesperson who has the PM's authority to relate the true facts instead of all this uncertainty. IMO priority should be to unite families separated by this pandemic, followed by people who have the correct visa's/work permits in place and able to follow the strict entry rules. Then lets have a look at the others who wish to come here.

I'm a cyclist and yes, this would destroy your chances in the race. 7 days off the bike is enough to set you back, let alone 14. It's not even worth considering this race if you're not already in Thailand. What a joke.

Just curious. What if you have 500k in the bank but it dropped below that amount for a couple months? Do you have to start over again on the 6 months or just top up and extend the count from that point?

I am not sure if it is a common rule for all of Thailand. I live in Lampang - in all of the Province had only two infections, no deaths over the entire period. As of today ALL large stores and Malls are refusing entry to non-mask wearers and everyone is measured for unusual high temperature -for the last seven months.

I am not inconvenienced enough to complain about it!

My guess is they want you to show you had close to the funds over time and didn't just borrow it from a friend or family member just to get back in ????????. They want you to be able to support yourself and not beg while your there.
