Netflix will mark Black History Month in October with a special collection of films, shorts and television series which celebrate different aspects of the black British experience.

The streaming service has pulled together 20 titles that focus on “joy, friendship and family”, which will go live on October 1 and be updated after that.

The collection includes Rocks, a critically acclaimed film released this year, which follows a teenage girl who finds solace with her multi-ethnic friends after being abandoned by her mother, as well as Desmond’s, a 1990s sitcom set in a barber’s shop owned by British-Guyanese family, which serves as a hub for the community.
