Visa extensions approved under previous amnesty to be upheld until Nov 30

If it is correct then it looks to me that those who became legal were given a bonus, while those that waited until another extension got the short end of the straw and can just stay until the 31st of October to make there exit.  Nothing more to see then, as if this is a definite go and signed, then those that waited need to pack it in unfortunately. They are not the recipients of anything but another month to get out of dodge and use that time to get there affairs in order or get the right visa to stay longer if possible.  I believe with this one the Government gave themselves an out to just keep extending those with a proper visa now, of course with payment in the hopes that many will convert to true extensions of stay or get the right Visa for there situation. Waiting to hear more whining from those that waited and believe this is not fair.

I think some people that paid will miss out on that extea 30days. Some offices just gave out 30 days and 60 days for non-o. Which are not under consideration stamps.

Seems no more need for embassy letters, but may require to show money in the bank instead for extensions of stay...

 

They require that for every other extension, so I wonder how long before temporary tourists are asked the same?

does my new 90 day extensions I paid 20k for also get 30 to 60 days added free?  Would be nice. 

 

As of now, I just flushed 14000 bht minimum down the toilette...if not more because they will also do 60 day extensions after that for the amnesty visa folks

Nothing yet since the Interior Ministry Announcement has not been published in the royal gazette yet after being approved by the cabinet today.

The cabinet resolution only mentions the extension of the amnesty from the 26th the 31st.

I don't read anything saying that anyone definitely will have to leave yet. As of now they can stay until then with potential to remain beyond. None of the deadlines up until now have been ironclad. Why assume that this one is? In fact, it appears that it may become easier to get some kind of extensions of permission to stay without using an agent, but that remains to be seen. We will have to just wait and see.

I understand. But if I planned a holiday for some weeks I couldn't stay months without a problem. Normally people have a job. And even if they still go for instance to the university they have obligations. Even being young with a lot of money you will have obligations in your home country if you didn't plan for such a long holiday. So please explain to me how is it possible to stay without preparations so long on holiday. I am retired in the meantime. But even being retired I needed to plan my move to Asia. So how is it possible to stay here so long without preparations?

It doesn't say anything about those who did not get an extension before the 27th September being able to extend at the end of October using an embassy letter or getting a 60 day extensions when they do. 

 

It just says that those who did get an extension before the 27th September can now visit immigration & get their stamp updated to 30th November (whether they're under consideration or not) and will be able to get a 60 day extension following that (requirements TBC).

Actually the article says everybody who got an extension starting 27th can do this.

But for example in Chonburi they let the embassy letter extensions start on the day which they were applied for (instead of the 27th as they were supposed to do). So somebody who got a 30 day extension on 25th September might not qualify for this special regulation.

One group of people who had to leave is business owners. I saw a lot of that on Samui. They could no longer meet the minimum number of Thais they had to employ or what they had to earn. Once their businesses were gone, so were they. Some of them, however, are hanging on with extensions too.

so on 20th October I will be stamped until 30 November ?

There is not enough information at this to time to answer your questions. Nothing has been formally released yet.

The only thing known with any certainty is that the ministerial notice was extended from the 26th to the October 31st.

You will have to go MTT to get the remainder of the extension you applied for.
