NHSO scraps contracts of 108 more private clinics, hospitals for alleged overbilling

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) announced on Tuesday that the service contracts of 108 clinics under the Chum Chon Ob Oon (community warmth) project and some private hospitals had been scrapped with effect from October 1 for alleged fraudulent claims for treatment of patients under the government’s golden card scheme, NHSO secretary-general, Dr Sakchai Kanjanawattana, said.

Education Minister orders inspection of teachers’ professional licenses

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Education Minister, Nataphol Teepsuwan, says he has received numerous complaints, not only about cases of student abuse, but also about education fees and other issues. He has instructed the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) to examine these issues and find solutions, including an inspection of the professional licenses of school teachers.
