webfact
One hand on the steering wheel one on his phone: Driver has plenty of excuses and apologies Picture: Daily News A minibus driver went to face the music at the Suphanburi department of land transport after a social media post caught him driving with one hand on the wheel and one on his phone. This went on for well over a minute on Route 953 from Bangkok to Hankha in Chainat. Somneuk, 57, said he had been a driver for 20 years. He explained that he had a "small talk" device in his ear and the reason he was on the phone so long was he was having trouble contacting a relative who was due to be released from hospital. He apologised to his passengers and promised that it would never happen again. The DLT fined him 2,000 baht and said he had to attend an hour of training. Hate shortens one's life, much like the distracted driver, the same type of which accounts for the 20+thousands killed on Thai roadways annually. I applaud the so-called snitches, aka the concerned public.

dlclark97
Supposedly a professional driver with 20 years experience. Cell phone use while driving is nothing more than an accident waiting to happen. Driving demands 100% of your concentration. Add cell phone use it is already down to 50%. Any further distraction - 33%. Better start looking for that amulet!
Meat Pie 47
Try doing that in Australia just holding your phone even if you not using it will cost you $500 and 4 demerit points. Get caught texting will set you back $1000 and 7 demerit points.

Scott Tracy
Minibus? With a driving position, steering wheel and gear stick like that. How tall are mini busses? How about the metal bar on the near side? Maybe I'm missing something?

They're the ones who are becoming like the children in China during the 1950's & 60's or Russia in the early 1900's. I believe the Hitler supporters also liked to 'tell' on their neighbors.
