I've never been more embarrassed for the US than during this debate, when the bloated, serial lying, racist, misogynist, bone spurs coward grifter lowered the reputation of a once great country deeper into the sewer. The 'clown' actually encouraged his miscreant base to engage in violence. Facebook is already full of his 'people' (sic) excited that he gave them the green light.

The drift toward autocracy by one as sociopathic as 45 is, but who fortunately is too incompetent to achieve his goal, is sadly supported by people ignorant of the Constitution as well as democracy. This election is not about policy differences, it is literally good vs evil, with 45 and his ilk the epitome of Hannah Arendt's 'the banality of evil'.

Those whining about antifa---which is not an organization---might want to look at reports produced by both the Dept of Homeland Security and the FBI which state that over 75% of all domestic terrorism since 9-11 was perpetrated by white supremacist groups like proud incels boys, boogaloo boys and far-right militias who can't go to Dunkin Donuts without feeling the need to take an AR-15.

Those of us 45 calls 'suckers and losers' have experience dealing with threats like these bloated proud little boys, who are nothing compared to the jihadis .  Best those boys stick to Call of Duty and fantasy.

Calm down. You're a bit over the top. Bad for your health.

This is what the rest of the world thought about the embarrassment

Presidential debate: How the world's media reacted

Die Welt said the debate had revealed very little about policy. "Most importantly, it showed that America has a president whose behaviour stands out and who lacks self-control - but that's not exactly news," it wrote.

I'm not familiar with die welt what political party is he from

I don't think that these debates will change many peoples minds, they have already decided who they will vote for.  Trump supporters never listen to any arguments against their idol, dubbing it all fake news as instructed by the orange one.

The debate itself was a disgrace but that was only to be expected.  These people are the contenders for what was once, the most important job in the world.  Not anymore as the USA continues to sink into the sewer that Trump presides over.  But this appears to be the best that America can come up with. A burnt out old man and a misogynistic lying conman.

I might have to disagree with the "burnt out old man" descriptor, and he certainly has energetic and, IMO, capable backup.

"A burnt out old man..." Burnt out? Says who, Trump team propaganda? Biden is old alright and may be lacking of stamina (as some have suggested) but you can't be burnt out and run a campaign trail at the same time. Fortunately wisdom usually comes with age (though not a sure thing, just look at Biden's opponent) and lacking stamina or not, he's got quite a dream team to support him. By his sides are two don't mess with me women:

wife Jill ready to tackle any protestor who got too close for comfort,

and low-mileage running mate Kamala Harris who made William Barr trickle in his pants (signaled by rapid eye-blinking) on the House floor.

You're right, and it illuminates the course America will be set on if Trump wins. Isolationism.

I see parallels with the Roman Empire. It too was the pre-eminent military power of its time. It started to withdraw its reach after the defeat of Varus's legions in the Teutoburg forest, on ground suited to Arminius's tactics. Took another two centuries for the Roman Empire to fall. Still had the military might, fell because of the rot within.

Santayana said those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. He's right too.

"I see parallels with the Roman Empire."

This is serious. We need to do something....

Otter: We need to do something.

Boon: We do.

Otter: You know what we need to do?

Otter and Boon: Toga party.

(Animal House, couldn't find an exact short clip).

As for Santayana, to apply TrumpLogic....

So interesting to see 'progressive' Democrat philosopher, who originally came from a country whose government is a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why doesn't he go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested place from which he came. Then come back and show us how it is done.

Biden allowed himself to be baited.

Every world leader watching took away from that...

Biden refused to let Trump shout him down with a long stream of discredited conspiracy theories.

Every world leader already knows that flattery and extravagant public ceremonies are the way to control Trump.

David Duke, Richard Spencer, the Klu Klux Klan, yeah it's all a left wing conspiracy theory. You don't even believe that. The FBI of course would disagree with you. That was a truly ignorant statement.

Everyone you mentioned is a FBI asset and a fringe movement. They are no threat to America or the free world. Unlike AntiFa/BLM who are burning down our cities as we speak.

White people are not racists, unlike what you believe
