President Trump asked the Proud Boys to 'stand by.' Who are they?

There is a whole subculture in the US of this kind of stuff.  The groups with names are one thing, but a lot of these guys read the junk on the net (there used to be newsletters and mailing lists) and "self-recruit," just like with young fellows around the world who say they're part of ISIS.  No difference.

Look up:

Charleston church shooting

Look up Oklahoma City bombing.

(I don't want to post names)

The simple answer and probably the action both parties will take is to use the 25th amendment to oust Trump after he looses the election and before he can stir up the white supremacy groups. The leaders of the Republican party have already stated there will be a peaceful and orderly transfer of power. From the final result announcement until the 20 January 2021 Trump will do all he can to wreck the country. He has no loyalty or love for the USA only for himself and his selfish own gain.

I don’t know it might just be easier to stop following his orders paying his bills he will probably just wander away lol more likely he will sneak out in the dark of night to hide his shame of beeing the biggest failure of a president in our history

So many loons. Many type.

Just because I type doesn't make me a loon. Although if you study English English rather than American English you'll find that "loon" can be regarded as a badge of honour for us Brits.

Happy to be a loon.

They describe themselves as a male-only club of "Western chauvinists" who "refuse to apologize for creating the modern world." The group, whose membership is multiracial, has been called out for misogynistic, anti-Muslim and anti-immigration rhetoric by advocates who monitor extremism.

It's hard to pin down what these guys are really about.  Maybe they're just a bunch of lonely guys angry at the world because they can't get laid.  I recall another male-only group that was created because of precisely that.  Their name escapes me.

A large proportion is this. I remember watching live the first wave of riots in Minneapolis. Gangs of black youths targetting a Nike store and a Rayban store. Just local disaffected youths. No Antifa, no organisation, just opportunist thieves and troublemakers.

So you interviewed each participant to establish their absolute reason to be at the location?

Many did.

Please share some details, i'm rather doubtful that many folks were interviewed in the midst of a major and very serious somewhat violent protest?

"The blend of racism, misogyny, irony, and hipness has its own history, one that most coverage of the alt-right neglects. White nationalists groups have long been refashioning themselves as cutting-edge modernists. And when they do, when they present themselves as intellectuals, artists, techies, and free-speechers, many journalists cover their modern style with a sense of surprise — even though this sort of hipster racism has been around for decades."

Actually they are not completely supremacy nor anti-supremacy, if you get what I mean. Their leadership has some white-supremacists among them and anti-semetic membership too even if they admit folks who are not white. A lot of them come with very fragile male egos and extreme fascist views with very violent tendencies. There is very little that is ironic about these folks.

Holy sh.. The commander in chief calling a uniform hate group that wear body armor and carry weapons to "Standby" which is a military command to be prepared. A hate group that flies the MAGA flag that responded to that command with this "Well Sir, we're ready" and saw a surge of new recruits. Is this a version of the storm troopers standing by to unleash disorder pending the election outcome. This is absolutely bad for US and democracy.

I think we are all old enough to realise that there are are extremists on the far Left and Right. These people are really no more than riot mercenaries. When involved with peaceful rallies years ago I had the unfortunate experience of meeting both.

For German citizens is more then funny and concern when foreigners call themselves "Nazis" or when they adapt the ideology. At first the Nazis was a left idea. The word says it. Nationalsozialist. National Socialist. They formend a left wing party. The NSDAP. It's called Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei. National Socialist German Workers' Party. So it was about the German race not only the white race. Now today foreigners try to tell us what the "Nazis" are, left and right wing, even if most of our Grandpas and Grandmothers was involved in the war. It's like when Germans would adapt or use the history from the Vietnam war. It's weird.  And no, the Antifa isn't a group it's an statement an idea, against the radical right in the 30s. By the way the German Nazis disliked Americans and the German Neo-Nazis too. They share their ideology more with the east, like Russia , Poland, ....They calling Coca Cola the occupiers' soda. ???? It's more then concern that most of the German history is used today as a weapon. Nazis, Marxist, and Antifa. Even if people have no clue what it means. Left and right wing.

Yep, fine example of the BS the media feed the public. If they're prepared to send antifa running they'll do for me
